Lalbaugcha Raja, Mumbai’s iconic Ganesha idol, is set to make Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 in Delhi an extraordinary event. First brought to Delhi in 2015, this renowned statue will be the centerpiece of the grand Ganesh Mahotsav from September 7-16 at DDA Ground, Burari, near Sanat Nirankari Samagam.

During a press conference at the Constitution Club in New Delhi, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, a member of the organizing committee, unveiled details of the festival. He invited Delhi NCR residents for darshan, noting that people from across the country travel to Mumbai for this experience, and since 2015, the idol has also been brought to Delhi.

The festival venue, covering 600,000 square feet, will include a pandal with wooden flooring, capable of accommodating around 500,000 devotees. There will be dedicated sections for spiritual discourses by Baba Bageshwar Ji and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj, along with cultural programs and evening musical performances.

Rakesh Bindal, Chairman of the Lalbagh ka Raja Trust, shared that the pandal will also feature a giant adventure wheel, various attractions, and food stalls offering regional dishes. The eco-friendly Ganesha statue, an exact replica of the Mumbai idol, is being crafted for immersion in a specially constructed pit at the event site. Preparations are in full swing, with markets buzzing and sculptors finalizing the idols.

The Ganesh Mahotsav is expected to draw between 100,000 and 500,000 devotees, making it a must-attend event for those in the Delhi NCR region.
